Looking Forward

The Town of Hookerton has a wonderful history—something to be celebrated, but what's even more exciting, is what the future holds. There is a renewed sense of community in town that you can feel when talking with people. A few items to illustrate this excitement include:

Since 1995, on the last Monday in November, the Hookerton Beautification Committee and the Hookerton Town Council holds a tree lighting on Main Street.  The sights and sounds of face painting, balloons, hot dogs, drinks and cookies fill the air.  Santa arrives, escorted by Hookerton’s finest firefighters, and a choir serenades attendants with Christmas carols.

Even though our population remains small, and we have incredible medial facilities just minutes from town, Hookerton recently welcomed its first town doctor since the early 90’s. Established in 2006, Dr. Donald Ribiero and Hookerton Family Practice offers walk in service for patients four years of age and older, including x-ray machines and lab work.

The Town now offers NC Wildlife Agency since the summer of 2015, which is  located inside of the Town Office.
